Zoning with Honeywell
Some rooms too
hot? Other Rooms too cold?
The solution is Zoning!
You have a light switch for every room in your house... why not have a thermostat?
Zoning is a way of dividing your
home into areas with similar heating and cooling requirements.
Get the Temperature you want...
Where you want
it...
When you want it!
-
Comfort... Zoning solves
the problem of some rooms being too warm while other rooms may be too
cold. Allows you to set the temperature you want, when you want, where you
want it.
-
Conservation... Only
condition occupied zone. When combined with programmable thermostats
energy savings can be as high as 30%.
-
Convenience... Flexibility
of control for each zone in your home. You don't have to go down stairs to
adjust the thermostat for upstairs.
-
Common Sense… You have a light
switch for every room, why not a thermostat? And what costs more, lighting
or heating and cooling costs? Typically heating and cooling account for 2/3
of the typical utility bill.
You wouldn’t dream of leaving the
lights on in every room of your house when you were sleeping—that would be a
tremendous waste of energy. But that’s what you do when you control your
heating and cooling systems with just one thermostat. Even automobile
manufacturers offer zoning as individual driver and passenger temperature
controls in many new car models.
Where is the thermostat in your
home? The hallway? The dining room? Chances are it’s in an area that you
don’t spend an awful lot of time in. A Trol-A-Temp Zoning System allows you
to have a thermostat in each living area of your home, not only keeping you
more comfortable, but also helping to reduce your energy bill by heating and
cooling only those areas of your home that you’re occupying.
How does Temperature Zoning
work?
Each zone has a motorized damper in
your heating and air conditioning duct system. These damper will open or
close based on your heating or air condition requirements. The dampers are
controlled by a thermostat located in each zone. Each thermostat is wired to
a master controller that monitors your heating and air system to provide
safe, reliable operation.
Energy is saved when you leave the
un-occupied zone thermostat off or not "calling" for heat or cool.
Zoning when combined with thermostat programming, can provide even more
savings. Programming the thermostat allows you to have heat or cooling where
and when you want it!
